The Creative Team at the Tabaccaia
Reschio’s wilderness hides a font of energy within its Tabaccaia
For 20 years the creative centre at the heart of the estate has unleashed vision and technical know-how to transform a crumbling castle to a superlative hotel, abandoned farmsteads to elegant houses with sweeping gardens, landscapes within natural contours, stylish interiors with picture windows especially positioned to see the sunset, beautiful furniture & accessories; all designed from the hub that is The Tabaccaia.
“I love every stage of the development, from talking to the client to learn their vision, to the detailed drawings. The whole team are involved in the project management, finalising every aspect to ensure that it is on time and on budget. Furniture, upholstery, lighting, interiors are all designed with that one property in mind. When it is unveiled, it is a theatrical moment”
The former tobacco processing facility from the 1940’s was transformed in 2013. Unlike the stone farmhouses on the estate, it is made of brick, concrete and glass. The industrial feel of the building was enhanced. The Architectural and Design Studio occupy a spacious mezzanine at the top of the double height building, flooded with natural light. The team is responsible for executing Benedikt Bolza’s architectural and product designs. Their work is much admired globally.
